Pin Information

Dear Parents:

We wish to clarify some concerns about the difference between Texts &Toolkits and “Bibliobanco” . 

TEXTS AND TOOLS

To this end, the School Management carefully reviewed the list of Texts and Toolkits, trying to request only the necessary material and facilitate online learning through different platforms that support and enrich the learning processes. As part of such list, the following digital texts (pins) were requested. They use the PLENO platform of Santillana Publishing House:

1. Activamente Español – 4th to 12th Grade

2. Activamente Sociales – Grades 2nd to 12th Grade

3. Convivencia y Paz – 6th, 7th and 8th Grade

The Santillana Publishing House has given us a month of grace, which means that all our students will have the platform active for one month; afterwards, only the students who have purchased the digital text (pin) will remain active.

Similarly, for Twelfth Grade, digital texts were requested for the subjects AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Statistics and AP Biology from the Pearson Publishing House.

During the classes for this and next week, the  teachers of each subject will be providing the students with the corresponding usernames and passwords, and will make sure each student has access.

BIBLIOBANCO 

With respect to “Bibliobanco”, imported material provided by the School, the digital texts are as follows:

1. English 4th and 5th Grade – Avallain Platform

2. English 6th to 12th Grade – MyElt Platform

3. Life & Choice Theory 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades – Teen Health with Healthy Relationships and Sexuality, Digital Student Center

4. Math and Natural Science 4th and 5th Grade – Pathblazer Platform

5. Mathematics and Natural Science in grades 6-12, Social Science in English in grades 7, 8, 9, and 10, and some elective courses included in the platform – Edgenuity Platform

Teachers will submit usernames and passwords for these platforms and/or texts during the classes of each subject. In the case of English from 4th to 12th grade (except for the AP English Language and Composition class), it is necessary to pick up the corresponding book in Block 3, Floor 1, Learning Resources Center (CRA), taking into account that each book comes with the student’s access code, and without this, students will not be able to access the digital platform.

Estimados Padres de Familia:

Deseamos aclarar algunas inquietudes que hay sobre la diferencia entre Textos y Útiles y Bibliobanco. 

Textos y Útiles

Para este propósito, la Dirección del Colegio realizó una revisión cuidadosa de la lista de Textos y Útiles, procurando solicitar solamente el material necesario y facilitar el aprendizaje en línea a través de diferentes plataformas que apoyan y enriquecen los procesos de aprendizaje. Como parte de dicha lista se solicitaron los siguientes textos digitales (pines), los cuales usan la plataforma PLENO de la Editorial Santillana:

1. Activamente Español – 3º a 11º Grado

2. Activamente Sociales – 1º a 11º Grado

3. Convivencia y Paz  – 5º, 6º y 7º Grado

La Editorial Santillana nos ha dado un mes de gracia, lo que quiere decir, que todos nuestros estudiantes tendrán la plataforma activada por un mes; posteriormente, solamente quedarán activos los estudiantes que hayan realizado la compra del texto digital (pin).

De igual manera, para Undécimo Grado se solicitaron textos digitales para las asignaturas AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Statistics y AP Biology de la Editorial Pearson.

En las clases de esta semana y la próxima, los docentes de cada asignatura estarán entregando a los estudiantes los usuarios y contraseñas correspondientes y verificarán que cada estudiante tenga el acceso.

Bibliobanco

En relación al Bibliobanco, material importado facilitado por el Colegio, los textos digitales son los siguientes:

1. Inglés 3º y 4º Grado – Plataforma Avallain

2. Inglés 5º a 11º Grado – Plataforma MyElt

3. Life & Choice Theory 5º, 6º y 7º Grado – Teen Health with Healthy Relationships and Sexuality, Digital Student Center

4. Matemáticas y Ciencias Naturales 3º y 4º Grado – Plataforma Pathblazer

5. Matemáticas y  Ciencias Naturales de 5º a 11º Grado, Ciencias Sociales en Inglés de  6º, 7º, 8º y 9º Grado, y algunas asignaturas y cursos electivos incluidos dentro de la plataforma – Plataforma Edgenuity

El procedimiento para la entrega de usuarios y contraseñas de estas plataformas y/o textos se realizará a través de los docentes en las clases de cada asignatura. En el caso de Inglés de 3º a 11º Grado (exceptuando la clase de AP English Language and Composition), es necesario recoger el libro correspondiente en el Bloque 3, Piso 1, Centro de Recursos para el Aprendizaje, teniendo en cuenta que cada libro viene con el código de acceso del estudiante y sin ello no podrán ingresar a la plataforma digital.
