Spelling is Not Just Memorizing, it is Knowing The Origin of Words – Spanish Class – Upp

On February 22, within the framework of the celebration of the international day of the mother language, we had the opportunity to hold the spelling contest final among the students of Upper Elementary. It was a great learning experience, which had several stages in which each child actively participated, notably improving their vocabulary, and understanding that words have an origin and that their way of writing corresponds to its meaning.

Here there are three moments from the contest:

1. How was the experience as a family?

2. How did you feel in front of the jury?

3. How did your classmates experience it from the classrooms?

Resumen: El pasado 22 de febrero, dentro del marco de la celebración del día internacional de la lengua materna, tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar la final del concurso de deletreo entre los estudiantes de Primaria Alta. Fue una experiencia de mucho aprendizaje, que se vivió en varias etapas en las cuales cada niño participó activamente, mejorando notablemente su vocabulario, comprendiendo que las palabras tienen un origen y que su forma de escribirlas corresponde a esto. A continuación les compartimos tres momentos del concurso: 

1. ¿Cómo se vivió en familia?

2. ¿Cómo se vivió delante de los jurados?

3. ¿Cómo lo vivieron sus compañeros desde los salones de clase?
