Thanks to the support and solidarity of the entire Rochester community, on February 14 and 22, 2024, through the Shared Bread program of the Rochester Educational Foundation, 23 grocery bags were delivered to the children of the IEO Fonquetá, who participate in the Bilingualism Program English for Chía, as well as 8 grocery bags to the students of the IEO Fusca who participate in the Bilingualism Program English for Fusca. These types of initiatives help meet the basic needs of 31 families by improving their food security, providing a message of hope and, above all, emotional support to those who need it most.
In addition to the direct impact on the beneficiary families, this program also has a positive effect on our community at large. By promoting solidarity and empathy, it strengthens community ties and fosters a culture of mutual support. Therefore, the delivery of grocery bags with non-perishable products to the families of the Fonquetá and Fusca Official Educational Institutions, through the Shared Bread program, is an inspiring example of how solidarity and collaboration can make a difference in people's lives.
For the delivery of these products we have been counting on the collaboration of the Eleventh Grade social service students and, on this occasion, of some Sixth Grade students, who have understood the scope of this solidarity initiative, motivating them to continue working for people who need help in order to achieve goals that improve their standard of living and that of their families.
Shared Bread is a program inspired by SDG 2: Zero Hunger, providing food security to 31 families, which, in turn, contributes to three (3) other Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 1: No Poverty, supporting targeted families who currently have very low incomes. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being is another goal to which we contribute to ensure a healthy life and promote well-being for children participating in bilingualism programs. Finally, we contribute to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by promoting social inclusion and ensuring equal opportunities.

PAN COMPARTIDO - ENTREGA DE FEBRERO DE 2024 - GRAN PROYECTO INSPIRADO EN LOS ODS 1, 2, 3 Y 10

Gracias al apoyo y la solidaridad de toda la comunidad rochesteriana, los días 14 y 22 de febrero, a través del programa de Pan Compartido de la Fundación Educativa Rochester, se realizó la entrega de 23 mercados a los niños de la IEO Fonquetá, quienes participan en el Programa de Bilingüismo Inglés para Chía, como también de 8 mercados a los estudiantes de la IEO Fusca que participan en el Programa de Bilingüismo Inglés para Fusca. Este tipo de iniciativas ayudan a satisfacer necesidades básicas de 31 familias mejorando su seguridad alimentaria, brindando un mensaje de esperanza y, sobre todo, un apoyo emocional a quienes más lo necesitan.
Además del impacto directo en las familias beneficiadas, este programa también tiene un efecto positivo en nuestra comunidad en general. Al promover la solidaridad y la empatía, se fortalecen los lazos comunitarios y se fomenta una cultura de apoyo mutuo. Por lo tanto, la entrega de mercados con productos no perecederos a las familias de las Instituciones Educativas Oficiales Fonquetá y Fusca, a través del programa de Pan Compartido, es una muestra inspiradora de cómo la solidaridad y la colaboración pueden marcar la diferencia en la vida de las personas.
Para la entrega de estos mercados hemos venido contando con la colaboración de los estudiantes de servicio social de Décimo Grado y, en esta ocasión, con la de los estudiantes de Quinto Grado, los cuales han comprendido el alcance de esta iniciativa solidaria, motivándolos a seguir trabajando por personas que necesitan ayuda para poder alcanzar metas que mejoran su calidad de vida y la de sus familias.
El Pan Compartido es un programa inspirado en el ODS 2: Hambre Cero, brindando seguridad alimentaria a 31 familias, el cual, a su vez, contribuye con otros Tres (3) Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible: el ODS 1: Fin de la Pobreza, apoyando a familias focalizadas que actualmente tienen muy bajos ingresos. El ODS 3: Salud y Bienestar es otro de los objetivos con el que se contribuye para garantizar una vida sana y promover el bienestar para los niños que participan en los programas de bilingüismo. Por último, aportamos al ODS 10: Reducción de las Desigualdades promoviendo la inclusión social y garantizando la igualdad de oportunidades.
