The Rochester Educational Foundation´s Shared Bread project has achieved its
eighth and final delivery of products of the 2023-2024 school year with a significant
impact on the community. This collaborative effort, which seeks to contribute to
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2 - Zero Hunger and SDG 4 - Quality
Education, is a demonstration that Rochester School families and collaborators are
solidary and supportive of those most in need.
From September 2023 until June 2024, 8 deliveries of markets have been made and
an average of 34 families have benefited, 31 of them belonging to the educational
institutions IEO Fonquetá and IEO Fusca, in addition to three families of Rochester
collaborators. To achieve this, a total of 4,518 products were collected, with an
approximate cost of $35,823,403, which were distributed in 307 markets throughout
the eight deliveries made this year. This incredible response demonstrates the spirit of
solidarity that characterizes the Rochester community and has also strengthened the
bonds between the different educational institutions.
The impact with the delivery of these markets has been significant, because it has not
only provided economic relief to the benefited families, but has also fostered mutual
support. The products include all sorts of basic non-persihable food supplies that
ensure adequate nutrition and improve the overall standard of living of the families
benefiting from the markets. In addition, this permanent assistance is intended to
enable students from the beneficiary institutions to concentrate on their studies, so that
they can achieve continuous improvement in their school performance.
The Shared Bread project continues to be an inspiring example of collaboration and
solidarity, making a significant difference in the lives of many people. Parents, social
service students, collaborators and the sustainability team of the Rochester
Educational Foundation have demonstrated that when you work as a team, you can
achieve great goals and build a strong and united community. For this reason, the
eighth delivery of Shared Bread not only represents material aid, but also an act
of love and commitment to the well-being and integral development of each
benefited family.

Pan Compartido: Una manera de fortalecer vínculos y solidaridad

El proyecto Pan Compartido de la Fundación Educativa Rochester, ha logrado su
octava y última entrega del año escolar 2023-2024 con un impacto significativo en la
comunidad. Este esfuerzo colaborativo, que busca contribuir a los Objetivos de
Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) 2 - Hambre Cero y ODS 4 - Educación de Calidad, es
una demostración de que las familias del Colegio Rochester y los colaboradores son
solidarios y apoyan a los más necesitados.
Desde septiembre de 2023 hasta junio de 2024 se han realizado 8 entregas de
mercados y se ha beneficiado a un promedio de 34 familias, 31 de ellas pertenecientes
a las instituciones educativas IEO Fonquetá e IEO Fusca, además de tres familias de
colaboradores cercanos. Para lograr lo anterior se recolectó un total de 4518
productos, los cuales tienen un valor aproximado de $35.823.403, que fueron
distribuidos en 307 mercados a lo largo de las ocho entregas realizadas durante este
año. Esta increíble respuesta demuestra el espíritu solidario que caracteriza a la
comunidad rochesteriana y además ha fortalecido los lazos entre las distintas
instituciones educativas.
El Impacto con la entrega de estos mercados ha sido significativo, debido a que no
solo ha proporcionado alivio económico a las familias beneficiadas, sino que también
ha fomentado el apoyo mutuo. Los mercados incluyen alimentos y productos de
primera necesidad que aseguran una nutrición adecuada y mejoran la calidad de vida
de las familias beneficiadas. Además, esta ayuda permanente desea que los
estudiantes de las instituciones beneficiadas puedan concentrarse en sus estudios,
para que logren un mejoramiento continuo en su desempeño escolar.
El proyecto Pan Compartido sigue siendo un ejemplo inspirador de colaboración y
solidaridad, que marca una diferencia significativa en la vida de muchas personas. Los
padres de familia, los estudiantes de servicio social, los colaboradores y el equipo de
sostenibilidad de la Fundación Educativa Rochester, han demostrado que cuando se
trabaja en equipo, se pueden alcanzar grandes metas y conformar una comunidad
fuerte y unida. Por esto, la octava entrega de Pan Compartido no solo representa
una ayuda material, sino también un acto de amor y compromiso hacia el
bienestar y el desarrollo integral de cada familia beneficiada.
