This week in the AP Spanish Literature and Culture course we have been working on a series of debates based on the publication “The 100: A ranking of the most influential persons in history” written by Michael H. Hart, who, based on some specific guidelines, defines the most influential characters in history.
To take better advantage of this text, we decided to portray them according to their ideology and role in the history of humanity in an anachronistic and timeless debate.
Each student chose a character among the 100 and debated on a variety of topics such as the very existence of God, the death penalty, and the sense of honor and war, amongst others.
It was a very fun and enriching activity for everyone.

Resumen: La semana pasada fui invitada a participar en el panel organizado por el Ministerio de Ambiente, que tenía como propósito debatir y escuchar las ideas de algunos jóvenes líderes. Durante el encuentro tuve la oportunidad de responder algunas preguntas hablando desde mi experiencia, y también pude escuchar las opiniones de otros. Con mi participación en el panel, tuve la oportunidad de ampliar mis conocimientos y exponer mis ideas. Fue muy interesante y enriquecedor ver a otros jóvenes estudiantes de diferentes colegios y universidades interesarse en los mismos temas, aprender qué iniciativas y proyectos han desarrollado, al igual que discutir nuestras opiniones con el ministro. Las crisis ambientales que estamos viviendo no sólo afectan a los jóvenes y a las generaciones futuras, sino a todo el mundo. No es hora de buscar culpables, es hora de actuar y trabajar juntos porque esa es la única manera en la que podemos obtener grandes resultados.
