El pasado Martes, 7 de mayo, tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar el Taller: “LEAMOS SIN LETRAS”, con las madres y los padres de los estudiantes de Prejardín, con el ánimo de compartir algunas estrategias que guíen la manera de acompañar a sus hijos en el proceso del disfrute de la lectura y su formación como lectores.
Durante el taller, los participantes realizaron ejercicios como el de “Dime cómo te llamas y te diré qué secreto escondes”, el cual consistió en que a partir de un juego de letras, palabras, y frases construyeron una linda composición usando todas letras de sus nombre (ejercicio escritura espontánea). Otra actividad que se desarrolló durante este taller fue la lectura de un libro silente (que no tiene letras): “Cuentos Silenciosos” de Benjamín Lacombe, donde los padres pudieron recordar y poner en palabras los títulos y el tema de cada uno de los diferentes cuentos presentados. La tercera vivencia consistió en que cada uno podía escoger un libro y crear una historia apoyándose en las ilustraciones de los libros álbum (libros de solos ilustración). ¡Fue sorprendente escuchar las historias que surgieron del ejercicio, llenas de creatividad y fluidez verbal!
Igualmente, conversamos acerca de la importancia de la lectura antes de las letras. Aclaramos qué es leer y concluimos que la creación y la estructura gramatical debe expresarse inicialmente de manera mental y, luego, de forma oral, logrando encontrar sentido en cada frase llevando el hilo conductor de una historia.
Otro de los aspectos que se trató fue la importancia de la lectura a nivel neuronal, desde la transmisión de señales eléctricas y químicas hasta la formación de conexiones entre neuronas, relacionando así todo el pensamiento y la memoria, involucrando las emociones y el control del cuerpo y la conexión que se genera en el proceso lecto- escritor en el que se están iniciando los niños.
¡Fue una experiencia divertida y enriquecedora para todos los padres! Comprendieron que hay muchas maneras de leer, les gustó la dinámica, y les fueron útiles las herramientas que se proporcionaron en el taller.

Let's Read without Letters

Last Tuesday, May 7, we had the opportunity to conduct the workshop: "LET'S READ WITHOUT LETTERS", with the mothers and fathers of Pre-Kindergarten students, hoping to share some strategies to guide the way to accompany their children in the process of enjoying reading and their development as readers.
During the workshop, the participants carried out exercises such as "Tell me your name and I will tell you what secret you are hiding", which consisted of a game of letters, words and phrases to build a beautiful composition using all the letters of their names (spontaneous writing exercise). Another activity developed during this workshop was the reading of a silent book (which has no letters): "Silent Stories" by Benjamin Lacombe, where parents were able to remember and put into words the titles and the theme of each of the different stories presented. The third experience consisted of everyone being able to choose a book and create a story based on the illustrations of the album books (picture books). It was amazing to hear the stories that came out of the exercise, full of creativity and verbal fluency!
We also talked about the importance of reading before the letters. We clarified what reading is and concluded that the creation and grammatical structure must initially be expressed mentally and then orally, managing to find meaning in each sentence carrying the connecting thread of a story.
Another aspect discussed was the importance of reading at the neuronal level, from the transmission of electrical and chemical signals to the formation of connections between neurons, thus relating all thinking and memory, involving emotions and control of the body and the connection generated in the reading-writing process that children are starting.
It was a fun and enriching experience for all the parents! They understood that there are many ways to read, they liked the dynamics, and they felt the tools provided in the workshop were useful.
