Kindergarten students have been working on recognizing letters and vocabulary related to them. In this game, students make use of different sensorial channels to achieve this expected skill. First, they are introduced to words that start with the letter of the day. This time they watched a very engaging series that tells stories of a pirate that visits letters islands and it is also done with flashcards and realia (The link is shared bellow) After that, they are given a whiteboard, a marker and a piece of clay. With this materials, they are asked to represent the words.: The teacher shows a picture with its written word. Then, students read it, repeat the pronunciation, write the word on the whiteboard and mold a figure of the word with clay.
Students were really engaged along this activity and most importantly they are developing language and writing skills. They used their visual, auditory and tactile systems along this activity.
Yo veo, yo escribo, yo moldeo: Aprendizaje Visual Integrado en la adquisición del vocabulario y habilidades para la escritura.
Estudiantes de Jardín han estado trabajando en el reconocimiento de letras y vocabulario relacionado con ellos mismos. En este juego, los estudiantes hacen uso de diferentes canales sensoriales para lograr evidenciar esta habilidad. Primero, se les introducen palabras cuyo sonido inicial es el mismo que el de la letra del día. Esta vez vieron una serie muy divertida acerca de un pirata que visita islas con formas de letras y también se usan imágenes y objetos.(Pueden ver el link de la serie al terminar de leer el artículo), Después usaron un tablero, marcador y un pedazo de plastilina para representar las palabras. La profesora muestra una imagen con la palabra escrita, los estudiantes la leen, la repiten, la escriben en el tablero y con la plastilina modelan la figura de la palabra.
Los estudiantes se mostraron realmente motivados a lo largo de esta actividad, y lo más importante, están desarrollando las habilidades asociadas al lenguaje y la escritura. Utilizaron los sistemas táctil, visual y de escucha a lo largo de esta actividad.
