Durante la entrevista, Jorge Quintero explicó cómo el compromiso del Colegio Rochester con la sostenibilidad ha sido clave para recibir este reconocimiento. Nuestro colegio cuenta con una infraestructura diseñada para minimizar el impacto ambiental, incluyendo un sistema de eficiencia energética que reduce el consumo en un 70%, una planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de nivel terciario y estrategias innovadoras de gestión de residuos.
Este reconocimiento resalta nuestro esfuerzo por integrar la sostenibilidad en cada aspecto de la educación, formando ciudadanos responsables y comprometidos con el planeta. Ser el primer colegio colombiano en recibir este premio nos motiva a seguir liderando el camino hacia una educación más verde y consciente.

Rochester School on RCN Radio: A Historic Recognition in Sustainability

On March 3rd, RCN Radio highlighted an unprecedented achievement for education in Colombia: Rochester School has been recognized as The Best of Green Schools 2025! In an exclusive interview, our Sustainability Director, Jorge Quintero, shared the importance of this recognition, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council and the National Green Schools Network.
During the interview, Jorge Quintero explained how Rochester School's commitment to sustainability has been key to receiving this recognition. Our school has an infrastructure designed to minimize environmental impact, including an energy efficiency system that reduces consumption by 70%, a tertiary wastewater treatment plant, and innovative waste management strategies.
This recognition highlights our efforts to integrate sustainability into every aspect of education, forming responsible citizens committed to the planet. Being the first Colombian school to receive this award motivates us to continue leading the way towards a greener and more conscious education.
