The Sustainable Development Goals aim to achieve a balance between the basic needs of individuals and societies to achieve human well-being, the adequate and protected use of natural resources and the protection of the environment. During our learning process and development of useful life skills, in the Colombian Citizenship and Latin American History and Geography class, we were researching about the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals); each student was assigned a goal focused on a specific topic: inequality, poverty, gender equality, social protection, recovery and sustainability, non-connectivity, labor pact, among others, and made an infographic where he or she delved into these issues, projected for the 2030 Agenda, including the fulfillment of the goals in time of pandemic.
After the elaboration of this graphic organizer, we held a debate focused on the question: how to achieve sustainable development in Latin America? Each one of us, from the assigned theme, participated by giving proposals on how it would be possible to achieve this purpose. We used a protocol for participation in the debate, similar to the one we use in the Model United Nations.
In the debate we were able to discuss each topic from a social and environmental perspective, and we tested our discursive, argumentative and propositional skills, I think it is very important that young people like us are formed with the mentality of supporting others, how to improve the world, because we depend on ourselves and if we can already propose solutions and we are implementing them from our possibilities, we begin to build from the present our desired futures.
Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible tienen como finalidad lograr un equilibrio entre las necesidades básicas de los individuos y las sociedades para lograr el bienestar humano, el uso adecuado y protegido de los recursos naturales y la protección del ambiente. Durante nuestro proceso de aprendizaje y de desarrollo de habilidades útiles para la vida, en la clase de Ciudadanía Colombiana e Historia y Geografía de América Latina, estuvimos investigando sobre los ODS (Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible); cada estudiante tenía asignado un objetivo enfocado a un tema en específico: desigualdad, pobreza, igualdad de género, protección social, recuperación y sostenibilidad, no conectividad, pacto laboral, entre otros, y realizó una infografía en donde profundizaba en estas problemáticas, proyectadas para la Agenda 2030, incluyendo el cumplimiento de los objetivos en tiempo de pandemia. Posterior a la elaboración de este organizador gráfico, realizamos un debate enfocado en la pregunta: ¿cómo lograr el desarrollo sostenible de América Latina? Cada uno de nosotros, desde la temática asignada, participó dando propuestas sobre cómo sería posible lograr este propósito. Utilizamos un protocolo de participación en el debate, similar al que usamos en los Modelos de Naciones Unidas En el debate pudimos discutir cada temática desde una perspectiva social y ambiental, y pusimos a prueba nuestras habilidades discursivas, argumentativas y propositivas, pienso que es muy importante que los jóvenes como nosotros nos formemos con la mentalidad de apoyar a los demás, de cómo mejorar el mundo, ya que de nosotros mismos dependemos y si desde ya podemos proponer soluciones y las vamos implementando desde nuestras posibilidades, empezamos a construir desde el presente nuestros futuros deseados.
