What do our students learn?

They write all kinds of essays, applications to universities, letters of recommendation, summaries and research papers in English and Spanish.

Argue, defend a point of view and express ideas in a courteous and respectful way.

Make models of different historical places. Visit amusement parks and model them in 3D; for instance, model how the Ferris Wheel works. Create casino games to learn about probability and use cause-effect diagrams to analyze specific problems.

Use scientific methods to prove hypothesis and learn about species that live in our campus. Develop population models, find strategies to biodiversity conservation, take samples of water from our Waste Water Treatment Plant and manufacture products like soap, in the laboratory.

Develop software in Java and design video games and apps.

Foster spiritual life by being thankful with the world where they live. Respect others points of view and understand what religion is to others.

Express emotions, ideas, feelings and thoughts through painting, dance, music and performance. Organize Broadway musicals style, working in teams to create choreographies, musical demos, plays and behind the scenes production.

Reach a B1 level in Portuguese or French.

Develop autonomy and responsibility with their learning process when choosing their courses and teachers every semester.

Organize and lead internal UN models RMUN and mini MUN.

Get ready for university life taking psychometric tests BADyG, MBTI and Basic Needs Profile.

Carry out a research project to propose solutions for a current community problem, following a four-step methodology developed by Juan Pablo Aljure, School president, which consists on considering the wanting image, the current problem situation, assessment of discrepancies and the action plan.

Eleventh and twelfth graders take AP courses, which are subjects based on Spanish culture and language, Spanish culture and literature, Statistics, English literature and composition, Biology, English culture and language, Environmental science, AB Calculus and Computer Science A, to prepare with success for the university environment and obtain university credits in those areas.

Optionally participate in different cultural, scientific and international entrepreneur business events.

Work with parents in the making and application of agreements on healthy and responsible decisions.

¿Qué queremos lograr en este nivel?

Los estudiantes de bachillerato utilizan lo que aprenden en Español, Inglés y Sociales para escribir una variedad de ensayos, aplicaciones a universidades, cartas de recomendación, síntesis e investigaciones. Adicionalmente, argumentan, defienden un punto de vista y son capaces de expresar ideas de manera amable y respetuosa. Ellos utilizan lo que aprenden en Matemáticas para realizar dibujos a escala de diferentes sitios históricos, analizan situaciones reales usando funciones, visitan parques de diversiones y modelan cómo funciona la rueda de Chicago, por ejemplo; diseñan juegos de casino para aprender sobre probabilidad y usan diagramas causa-efecto para analizar problemas específicos o efectos determinados.

En el ámbito de las Ciencias y la Computación, nuestros estudiantes usan el método científico para probar hipótesis, desarrollan modelos de poblaciones, encuentran estrategias para conservan la biodiversidad, toman muestras de agua de nuestra PTAR, fabrican en el laboratorio diferentes productos como jabón, programan en JAVA y diseñan videojuegos y Apps. En Religión, los estudiantes cultivan su vida espiritual al agradecer por el mundo en el vivimos, respetando los puntos de vista de otros y comprendiendo cómo otros perciben la religión. En Artes, los estudiantes aprenden a expresar emociones, ideas, sentimientos y pensamientos a través de la pintura, la danza, un instrumento musical, o la actuación. Los estudiantes trabajan de manera cooperativa para crear coreografías, demos musicales, obras de teatro y escenografías. Finalmente, en relación con el tercer idioma, los estudiantes alcanzan un nivel B2 bien sea en Portugués o Francés.
